With a rich history as it's leading philosophy Glashutte Original timepieces are still produced in Saxony Germany, and reflect traditional 3/4 plate German watchmaking. After Germany had been reunited, Glashütte Original was restructured and introduced its fine timepieces into the world market as a genuine manufacturer for their manually wound "1845 Collection", and their automatic "Senator Collection". In addition, their in house calibers are encased in extremely heavy cases of either steel or 18K rose gold, in two shapes, the round "Classic" and the rectangular "Karree."
